Serbia invites Pope! [SR]

Borba.rs: No need to remind you that today's sober attitude of Serbia towards the Vatican is quite a show and negative emotions are still in the consciousness and subconsciousness.

Belgrade Archbishop Stanislav Hocevar said yesterday that in conjunction with Pope Benedict XVI's invitation to Serbia, the Catholic Church does not expect any signals from the Serbian Orthodox Church, because the current talks between the two churches are adequate.

(...)

Hocevar read Easter greetings from the Vatican and said he should not expect a rapid response to the Vatican, because it is known that Pope Benedict XVI to visit the deep desire of the faithful from Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia.

"The Holy See wants to continue talking, even with the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian authorities and wants time to find the best solution that will benefit all parties." Hocevar said.

Members of the International Bishops' Conference St. Cyril and Methodius again on April 1 invited Pope Benedict XVI to visit Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia. Translated from
